The Public Interest Report ranked the Board of Treasury Investments in the top 5 for state government investment pool yields, as of the end of calendar year 2019.

The report compares the WV Money Market Pool to more than 80 government-operated prime money market funds across the United States. The WV Money Market Pool ranks at the top of the list with other state pools including Texas TexPool Prime, Florida Prime, and South Carolina LGIP.

“The low expense ratios, strong manager performance and seasoned professional staff offered by the BTI play a major role in producing a top performing fund,” said BTI Executive Director Kara Hughes.

The Board of Treasury Investments is a component of State Treasurer John Perdue’s office. It places available state funds in short-term, low-risk investments such as its WV Money Market Pool. For 15 years, it has also placed $2.1 billion on deposit with state banks, through an interest rate bidding process.
